There are seven sayings, seven “last words”, that the gospels report from Jesus on the cross.  It should be said that the crucifixion has been handed down to us in great detail and with great care as it was the central and formational story about Jesus that all else points towards and depends on.
 
As Christians, we must survey the wondrous cross.

This week Jesus promises one of the criminals dying beside him paradise.  How do you think he imagined paradise?  Do you think the criminal believed that was true?  Do we believe it now?
